This has to be one of the strangest requests from your future in-laws. One, it's not their wedding, and eye color is a critical part of someone's appearance! It's identifying and personal. Your wedding day is especially the day that someone should want to feel the most themselves and comfortable in their own skin.

The crazy part is that her eyes are blue-grey, which is usually a desired color. Obviously, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but blue eyes are definitely revered. Brown eyes aren't talked about as if they're a beautiful trait, and it's usually not an eye color that gets attention or compliments. It's very strange.

Man’s entitled family demands his fiancée wear colored contacts at her wedding because her eyes are “too intense,” she refuses and they turn on her: “Why are you being difficult?”
In-laws can be a real pain. When you get married to someone, you don't just marry the person, you sort of marry their whole family in a way. You will be immersed in these people's lives forever, so it would behoove you to get along with them. Sometimes this is easier said than done, and sometimes it really is just easy and flowing. For those of you who don't have a great relationship with your in-laws, I don't envy the burden.
If you do have difficult in-laws, it's not uncommon that they put their nose into your business without asking you about it. It may be that they even try to dictate things at your wedding before you're officially in-laws. Whatever the case may be, boundaries are key to navigating these arduous times.
In the story below, a woman is about to get married. Her future in-laws ask her to wear colored contacts at her own wedding because they think her eye color is too intense. At first, she plays it off as a joke. It doesn't stop there though, and she finds herself in a strange situation.
